Most SIM cards are activated in 20-40 minutes. However, occasionally there is a delay to a high volume of requests at the same time. We'll show you how to figure out what's going on and what to expect.

Typical process

  1. You enter your SIM card number, select your plan, enter your payment information and check-out. Upon checkout, we begin the activation process remotely.
  2. Insert your new SIM card and wait for the activation text message from our network carrier to confirm that your activation is complete. (20-40 minutes after checkout)

New number activations

1. You never received an order confirmation email titled "Connected Mobile Phone Line Order Confirmation"

Most likely, your checkout was not completed. In this case, your payment method will also not have been charged, and you won't see a phone line in status "Activating" in your dashboard.

What to do?

Reach out to us to confirm what's going on and that your checkout did not go through. We'll confirm if the issue was due to a failed payment, or another reason and will get you back on track to activation, while ensuring no duplication of subscriptions or charges.

2. You received an order confirmation email, but it's been more than 40 minutes. What's going on?!

Entering a single digit off will make your SIM card submission invalid. This can cause a delay of 1-2 hours if not caught before the first submission attempt. Please confirm the card number submitted. If there was a mistake, shoot us an email at support@connectedmobile.co so we can re-attempt this for you. If we recognize this first, we will reach out to you for an updated number.

Most likely, your request was received at a time of high volume traffic and the queue is taking longer than normal.

Requests received outside of business hours (M-F 8 AM - 6 PM) are more likely to fall into this category, when fewer queues are running. Please wait an additional hour. If no response, shoot us a message and we'll look into what's going on.

Activation requests for our Classic Plan typically take 20 minutes longer on average to activate than our Unlimited Plan, so this is helpful to know as well as what could be a contributing reason.
